Room Use Policy

 

Reservation of Facilities

 

1.       St. Joseph Parish reserves the right to evaluate and determine each request for Rental on an individual basis. 

2.       The Buildings of St. Joseph Parish are SMOKE-FREE Facilities

3.       Responsible party:  The responsible party is the person who signs the contract and this Room Use Policy.  That person is responsible for any breakage or damage to the building or its furnishings.  It is understood that the cost of repair or replacement or to make a claim to their insurance company will be the responsibility of said party.  It is also this person’s responsibility to make a claim to their insurance company.

4.       Registered Parishioner Status: Registered parishioners are those who at the time of the rental contribute financially to and are registered with the parish for at least six (6) months.

5.       Set-up:  All set up of tables, chairs, etc. are the responsibility of the renter.  Set up of tables and chairs is available for a fee.

6.       Clean-up: All clean up is the responsibility of the renter and must be completed by end of time reserved, and room found in an acceptable condition. Cleaning supplies are found in the custodial closet located down the back hall off of the kitchen.   Failure to comply may result in the retainment of all or part of the cleaning fee of $250 and/or loss of future use of facilities.  The Cleaning deposit (all or in part) will be returned within 2 weeks of event upon evaluation of the condition of the facility. 

7.       Decorating:  Decorations are limited to tables and floor.  (Balloon archways, centerpieces, etc) No wall hangings will be permitted unless otherwise approved by the hall administrator.  Candles may be used, but must be contained within a globe.

8.       Disturbances:  The building and adjacent grounds are under the general supervision of our representative.  He/She shall have the authority to restrict the use of the building and grounds when such use will be detrimental to the operation of the facilities or in violation of these rules and policies.  The renter is responsible for advising their guests of all rules and policies and that rowdy or disturbing behavior requires that the offending guest(s) vacate the premises immediately.  We reserve the right to halt any function that is deemed “out of control” by our representative. Any expenses incurred for local/civil authorities is the responsibility of the renter.

9.       Music (Weekend Room Use only):  To respect the sacredness of Mass, music for the event is not allowed until after the last Mass Saturday and Sunday.    Music must stop by 11:30 p.m.  There shall be no dancing, sitting or standing on the tables or chairs.

10.   The building shall be subject to inspection at any time by our representative.

11.   Gambling in any form is prohibited unless State license is obtained.

12.   Use of Telephone is not available in the Activity Center.  Please have a personal cell phone available at the time of event.

13.   All events/rentals must cease by 12:00am.  Guests must be vacated by 12:00am

14.   Lights, heat and air conditioning are to be adjusted by our representative.

15.   Use of Kitchen is not permitted unless specifically requested at time of reservation.

16.   Supplies: All necessary consumable supplies for the event must be furnished by the renters.  This includes but is not limited to: plates, cutlery, drinking cups/glasses, table paper, cleaning supplies, and condiments.  No property of St. Joseph parish shall be removed from the building.

17.   If alcohol is being served, the renter must purchase the Michigan Catholic Conference Special Events Insurance coverage for $100.  (This is a separate money order made payable to the MCC) All refreshments of any kind shall be served and consumed inside the building.  NO DRINKS of any kind are to be taken outside of the building.  Beer is to be served in glasses only.  No pitchers will be allowed.  Conformance to state liquor law is required.

18.   Food/Drink are not allowed on the dance floor at any time.
