Parish Worship Commission -
Team Charter -
Autumn 2016
Purpose:
“To use knowledge of the liturgy and our love for God to provide worship opportunities for all to grow as joyful disciples of Jesus Christ.”
Values:
- Personal Relationship with God: promote & attend various worship events – pray, read Scripture
- Receptive: being open and appreciative of the unique gifts of others - Seek input.
- Honest: speak clearly without fear – respect other people’s opinions & time
- Trust Worthy: attend meetings regularly
- Community: striving to be united and draw life from Jesus Christ - membership has a common religious heritage - welcoming

Team Outcomes:
- Facilitate parish liturgies faithful to the Church’s liturgical seasons that stimulate the full, conscious and active participation of all present so that they may grow as joyful disciples of Jesus Christ and encourage others to do the same.
- During the 16-17 season the Worship Commission will particularly seek to:
- Enhance the parish’s Eucharistic Liturgies
- Increase the Liturgical knowledge, understanding, and skills of Worship Commission members
Timing
- The team will meet monthly, the first Tuesday of each month, 6-7:30 PM
Resources and Budget:
- The Worship Commission will have an annual budget of $500.00 and will utilize various resources to assist with team outcomes, such as: Diocesan and National Groups, Church Liturgy Documents, and St. Joseph Parish Ministries.
Operating Guidelines:
- Meeting minutes published promptly and distributed at least 1 week prior to meeting
- Agenda published a minimum of 24 hours prior to meeting
- Structure of Meeting will have a Chair/Vice-Chair, Recorder/Backup, and Timekeeper/Back-up (paired responsibility for each)
- Reach agreement/decisions through informal voting process, handling conflict with respect
Norms and Ground Rules:
- We will communicate – openly and respectfully
- We will communicate within the team – no side conversations, no outside talk
- We agree to listen to each other
- We will give and receive feedback – honestly and respectfully
- We will show commitment by attending meetings, coming prepared, and participating in parish worship and liturgical ministries
- Wear name badges
- Provide notice to the Facilitator in advance if unable to attend
- Works in a collaborative manner with the Pastor, Pastoral Staff, Parish Pastoral Council,. Finance Council, and other Parish Commissions
